AVEVA MES Performance
AVEVA MES Performance
Tracking your performance with AVEVA MES Performance
The performance of the production line is determined by bottlenecks in sub-assemblies, but the location of the bottleneck is not obvious to the operators and may change with the item produced or equipment failure. To determine the Overall Equipment Effectiveness value of the line, the KPI calculations must be based on the performance of the piece of equipment that represents the bottleneck.
Integration into existing automation systems allows data to be recorded automatically and with high precision. Incorrect entries that lead to incorrect calculations can be completely avoided. The automatic recording of data enables the recording of short interruptions and frees the operator from manual data entry.
Usage events, such as starting/stopping equipment or downtime for maintenance, define the change in status. These events are normally recorded automatically by the control systems, but can also be entered manually into the system by production staff.
AVEVA MES Performance can be set up quickly by configuring equipment, lines, workload states and reasons in the web-based user interface. A line is simply modeled by "dragging and dropping" the available equipment into a layout that displays the product flow.
By integrating with existing automation systems, highly accurate and timely insights into plant performance can be gained, including short-term events that are not normally recorded. Short-term events can significantly increase downtime, but when they are recorded, users can see the impact of the events.
AVEVA MES Performance provides a reporting database optimized for fast queries (powered by AVEVA Intelligence), and a full set of interactive report views that provide information on production results and equipment performance metrics, including pre-built reports on not only OEE but also mean time between failures or mean time to repair.
