AVEVA communication drivers enable AVEVA solutions to be connected to leading PLC brands, such as Schneider Electric, Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi, Omron, GE, Beckhoff, Texas Instruments, Codesys, and include support for numerous industrial standards, including OPC UA, MQTT (including Sparkplug), BACnet, SNMP and REST APIs. They also support DNP3, IEC 61850, IEC 60870-5-104 and Modbus RTU protocols for collecting data from geographically distributed equipment. Designed to operate in multi-instance mode, the drivers ensure high levels of performance and availability.

Encryption of collected data - TLS protocol

Data exchanges between supervision client applications and AVEVA communication drivers are transparent, secure and encrypted, using the TLS 1.2 protocol.

Integrated Global NameSpace

Traditionally, data exchange between communication drivers and supervisory client applications is based on client/server architecture and the use of OPC DA or SuiteLink protocols. With "Integrated Global NameSpace", you have native integration of communication driver data with AVEVA supervisory applications such as AVEVA System Platform, without the need for OPC DA or SuiteLink communication layers.

By running multiple instances of the same driver on a single machine, any potential issues that could affect an instance of a driver are isolated to that instance.

Advanced diagnostics

The AVEVA Communication Drivers configuration console provides a range of diagnostic functions and statistical data on communication driver activity. An efficient way to monitor the state of connectivity with PLCs.

Centralized configuration interface

A single configuration console lets you manage the configuration of all AVEVA communication drivers. Secure and remotely accessible, this console enables you to set up diagnostics and statistics linked to driver activity.

Multi-instances configuration

Beyond 20,000 I/O automata, it is advisable to configure several instances of the same communication driver to optimize the overall performance of the station in charge of collecting the automata data.

Auto-Build  for System Platform

Available for AllenBradley and Siemens PLCs, the Auto-Build function enables a System Platform project to improve engineering efficiency by reading the structure of a PLC program and automatically building models and application server instances based on the PLC schema. 

Development of "white" drivers

Available free of charge, the AVEVA communication driver SDK lets you develop your own communication driver. This SDK is part of the AVEVA Communication Drivers pack. It can be installed optionally, and requires Microsoft Visual Studio 2022 for C++ development.
